Daily essentials
To start the new year I thought I would write an updated daily essentials post. This was quite a difficult one as there's so many items I could choose from, so I have narrowed it down to several products that I feel are key to any girls makeup/beauty routine.
Hair--
Like many others, I swear by my tangle teezer, I truly believe every girl should have one, I have 4! The brush above is the gold luxe travel teezer and it's great for your clutch bag on a night out. It comes with a case to protect the brissels which is what makes it perfect.
Dry shampoo is the god send to a working week. I tend to wash my hair every couple of days, so for the inbetween days I use quite abit of this to add abit of volume and freshen up the roots. I've used batiste for years, so when in boots I picked up this co lab spray for a change. It's just as good as batiste, if not better.
And last but not least, hair grips. No matter how many I buy, they all go missing and I have no idea where!! I usual where my hair in a messy bun in the week, and for the little flyway hairs and the secure the bun these little grips from wilko are very handy.
Make up--
For my week day makeup, I tend to stay pretty basic and not really experiment, which I save for the weekend. So for my everyday items I have chosen that are again pretty generic for most girls makeup bags. This stippling brush is from a set I got last year from Amazon, it isn't branded but is amazing for blending in foundation and adding concealer. I have used the real techniques stippling brush for some time and now I swear by this one.
The next brush is the Mac square flat top, which I use for my brows. I used to use an angled brush, however I lost it and used the flat top as an alternate and I can't use anything else! It's perfect for creating an arched brow and fills them in perfectly If you prefer quite a full brow.
Continuing with brows, the next product is the collection 200 brow definer in 2 brown. I have used a lot of brow products in the past, from palettes to pencils. But I have realised that a waxy product is best for the angle I want to create and this pencil is ideal. Stick around for a brow tutorial coming soon!
For an everyday lip my favourite it Mac Yash. It's the perfect combination of a dark nude with a vey slight pinky tone. It's a matte effect which is my favourite from the Mac selection, and combines perfectly with a dewy face, bold lashes and full brows.
Skin care --
I'm going to be writting a full skin care routine soon, but for now I have chosen the 3 items I use most. Before applying g makeup I use the simple protecting light moisturizer. And the important part of this product is the SPF15 which I always look for in a moisturizer. It's perfect as a base and light which is perfect for my oily skin.
For makeup removal at night, I use the micellar cleansing water by garnier. It's great if your on abit of a budget, and the makeup literally slides off. I simply use with a cotton pad.
My last product is the Estée Lauder advanced night repair serum. Now the full bottle is quite pricey, so I was lucky enough to spot this 7ml bottle in a magazine. It may be small but a little definitely goes a long way! I apply half a pea sized amount to my face just before I go to bed and my face feels refreshed and soft in the morning.
